Alyssa and Jose met on Facebook 8 years ago, arranged to meet from there, and the rest is history! They have a beautiful little boy and married in 2020.
The proposal:
Jose took Alyssa to Sydney for New Year’s Eve and proposed just before the clock stuck midnight. A nearby police officer filmed the whole thing, and after Alyssa had said yes, everyone cheered and congratulated the engaged couple. Alyssa says, “it was like a movie.”
The ring:
Alyssa and her sister had visited Simon Curwood Jewellers and had looked at ring designs Alyssa liked the most. Our staff had taken note of what Alyssa liked, and when Jose visited a few weeks later, our team were able to show him some of the designs that she had liked best.
The wedding:
Due to COVID, Alyssa and Jose had planned to elope to a farm, have their wedding ceremony and then photos after that. But on the day, the weather had other ideas, with major flooding and damaging winds…so plan B it was! Their photographer arranged last minute for them to have their elopement at the Newcastle Flower Markets – and Jess from there set up all the flowers and the room beautifully – and they were able to get married there in front of a small group of family. Followed by takeaway Chinese at home, Alyssa couldn’t describe a better day!
The couple’s advice to anyone getting engaged:
Alyssa says “Good luck, have fun and make the most of the day! It goes super-fast”
Great advice – we wish you both all the best!
